Adult The grey upperparts and barred underparts can cause confusion with other similar species, but the pattern of throat is diagnostic: completely white with a vertical, black, very visible stripe in the center. Orangish-yellow cere and legs. Red iris. No sexual dimorphism. Juveniles show a scaled aspect.
