Adult Large, predominantly white with black wings and back. The wide red area around the eye and the short, robust bill, separate it quickly from the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus), unique species which could cause confusion. It doesn't present sexual dimorphism, but juveniles are very different, completely brown and with the colored eye area yellowish instead of red.
