Male Brown upperparts, cream colored underparts with black spotted flanks and scaled breast. Roseate legs and bill. Brown head, with wide area on cheeks and sides of neck, which varies from grey (dark phase) to almost white (pale phase). In this sequence the dark phase is shown.
