Juvenile
Genus Tigrisoma presents very marked differences between adults and juveniles, contrarily to the majority of ardeids, showing the young birds very spotted, criptic plumages. In the Rufescent Tiger-heron this plumage is orangish brown, black spotted. The pale legs constitute also a notable difference with adults.
