When the bird is completely adult, the chestnut of the head and neck is pure, without any black spotting. In the anterior side of the neck there are two parallel white lines from the throat to the breast. The rest of the body is plumbeous grey. Orangish yellow iris, black bill with yellow base, as well as the loral region and the bare skin around the eye.
