General features Unique Aratinga in Pantanal with orange forehead, bordered by a bluish band. Rest of head green, yellow eyering and orangish throat. Secondaries form a blue panel on the closed wing. No sexual dimorphism. Very similar to A. canicularis, but that one only occurs in Central America and their ranges don't coincide.
