Male
Unmistakable Trogon, metallic plumage which varies from green to blue depending on light. Red underparts from the mid breast to vent. The crest from the base of the bill to the nape gives the head a very round aspect. Yellow bill. No eyering. Completely white underside of tail. During breeding season it developes four extremely long uppertail coverts (more than 70 cm), which are lost during the rest of the year.
