General features Brown plumage with chestnut wings and tail. Very streaked on head, neck and breast. Very similar to other Woodcreepers of Costa Rica (Streak-headed W., Spot-crowned W. and Ivory-billed W.). It differs on the strong, slightly decurved bill, dark on the upper mandible and pale on the lower one.
