Size: Between 6,5 cm (Short-tailed Pygmy-tyrant, Myiornis ecaudatus, the smallest of the world's passerines) and 28 cm (Great Shrike-tyrant, Agriornis lividus).
Distribution: Nearctic and Neotropical Regions. Most of the species are migratory.
Habitat: Mainly forestal. Some species restricted to wetlands and savannas.
Feeding: Insectivorous. They sometimes include fruits in the diet, as well as small vertebrates (fish, reptiles or amphibians).
Breeding: Very varied nests, the most common structure is an open cup. Some species nest in cavities, other ones built hanging nests and others occupy other birds' nests, expelling them previously.
