Great Bustard (Otis tarda)
Linnaeus, 1758. 2 subspecies recognized, here is shown the nominal one.
General features Unmistakable with any other Palearctic species. Very large and robust, something smaller than Kori Bustard, reaching 18 kg. Chestnut brown upperparts and pure white underparts, grey head. Males have a more intense coloration and a notably larger size.
