Size: Between 120 cm and 19 kg (Kori Bustard, Ardeotis kori) and 42 cm (Savile's Bustard, Eupodotis savilei).

Distribution: Palearctic, Afrotropical, Oriental and Australasian Regions. They are not truly migratory, but they do nomadic or dispersive movements depending on food availability.

Habitat: Always open areas. Steppes, semideserts, savannas.

Feeding: They are omnivorous, including in the diet seeds, fruits, flowers, invertebrates and small vertebrates.

Breeding: The nest is a depression on the ground. 1-2 eggs. Incubation 20-25 days.
