Size: Between 15 cm (Little Bronze-Cuckoo, Chrysococcyx minutillus) and 67 cm (Greater Black Coucal, Centropus menbeki).

Distribution: All the continents, excepting Antarctica. The tropical species are resident, the ones of temperate areas are migratory.

Habitat: Very veried, from deserts to tropical forests.

Feeding: Mainly insectivorous, being able to feed on poisonous prey that other birds can't, as some caterpillars. Some species also eat small vertebrates.

Breeding: There are parasitic species that don't build a nest, laying the eggs on other host bird's nest. The non parasitic ones build a stick platform in a tree or bush. 2-15 eggs (the non parasitic species have clutches of up to 5 eggs, while the parasitic ones can lay until 15). Incubation 11-16 days. Nestling period 16-24 days.
