Black upperparts, head, neck and breast, with greenish and violaceous iridescences. White belly. Intense red bill and legs. Bare skin around the eye of the same color. Juveniles lack the metallic iridescences of the plumage. Bill, legs and bare eyes kin are greyish brown.
