First winter The white tips of greater coverts and tertials are characteristic of juvenile pumage, indicating that it is a first winter individual. The rest of features are practically identical to adults: well marked superciliary line, rusty red flanks well visible with the closed wing, white malar stripe, pale underparts strongly streaked.
