Female Very small and active. Grey upperparts with very visible white panel. As in almost all Wattle-eyes, very marked sexual simorphism. Male with black broad pectoral band pure white throat. Female with chestnut, narrower band and a visible mark of the same color in the center of throat. Yellow iris in both sexes. No other Wattle-eye in north Botswana, males could be confused with B. pririt, but it occurs more at the south and they don't coincide in Botswana (they do in north Namibia)
