Breeding Males begin to perform the courtship display in february/march. The striking pattern of neck, black with two white collars, is aquired in the third year of life. In the courtship display, the erection of these feathers make the neck look puffy, while the male calls and jump in the most intense point of the display. The males compete in leks through these demonstrations. They are monogamous and each one can have 2 or 3 females.
