Adult Brown upperparts, with strong bronzy iridescences on shoulders. Red carpal spurs, frequently hidden under the plumage, which are shown in the last part of the sequence. Prominent crest, red eye and eyering, roseate base of the bill and black tip. Black forehead, throat and breast, white rest of underparts. There's no sexual dimorphism neither seasonal variation. Juveniles differ in short crest and spurs, and diffuse black of throat, forehead and breast.
