General features
Endemic to Costa Rica and Panama. On upperparts, black mantle, green and yellow rump, bluish wings and tail. Black head with red, blue and cream-color spotting. Black throat and scaled breast, rest of underparts chestnut. It inhabits montane forests, generally joined to mixed flocks.
