Adult individual surprised and harassed by a group of Purplish Jays (Cyanocorax cyanomelas) by day. General plumage is brown on upperparts and cream-colored on underparts, with a brown collar which separates throat and breast. The most remarkable feature is the white inner border of the facial disc, which extends above and under the eyes forming the spectacles that give the name to the species. Yellow-orange iris, pale bill and legs.
