Juvenile male Tiny, 8 cm, endemic to Costa Rica and Panama. Female and juvenile plumages are very similar, with dull green upperparts and brown underparts, with white breast and sppoting throat. The adult male presents a fire-red throat and more intense green upperparts. This juvenile individual is a male and it already shows two or three red feathers on throat.
