Order Galbuliformes 35 species in 10 genera
Size: Between 13 cm (Lanceolated Monklet, Micromonacha lanceolata) and 29 cm (Black-fronted Nunbird, Monasa nigrifrons).
Distribution: Neotropical Region. Strongly sedentary.
Habitat: Forestal, preferentially in borders and clearings. Also in open areas and meadows.
Feeding: Invertebrates. Sometimes, small amphibians and reptiles. Rarely, fruits.
Breeding: Cavities and burrows, on the ground or in trees (termite nests, natural holes, old nests of other birds) . 2-4 eggs. Nestling period 20-30 days.
