Size: Between 69 cm (Common Raven, Corvus corax) and 20 cm (Dwarf Jay, Cyanolyca nanus).
Distribution: All continents. In the northern hemisphere several species are migratory, in the southern hemisphere all of them are sedentary.
Habitat: Very varied. Forests, open areas, deserts, urban areas.
Feeding: Very varied. Fruits, seeds, invertebrates, small vertebrates, eggs, carrion.
Breeding: Stick structures placed in trees, being an open cup or a close chamber. 2-8 eggs. Incubation 16-22 days. Nestling period 18-45 days.
Threat status: 12 threatened species (2 Critically Endangered, 2 Endangered and 8 Vulnerable). 1 Extinct in the Wild. [+info] |
