Endemic to Costa Rica and Panama. Dark upperparts with blue rump and greenish manttle. Blue head and breast with good light, blue eyering and pale bill. Red vent and white tail, with blue central pair on upperside. Female is grey, conserving the blue eyering and red vent, with barred tail.
