Geographical variation
The 8 subspecies recognized differ in the coloration of upperparts, with different tones of grey and green. Here are shown two of them. The individual of this sequence belongs to wetmorei, with uniformly greenish grey upperparts, and the videos from Brazil show coloreum, which has a characteristic paler nape than the rest of the head.
