General features
Scops-Owl with white facial disc and orange eyes, very prominent tufts, pale bill. Greyish brown general coloration, tending to bluish on adults' upperparts. Cream-colored underparts with thin black stripes. Another Scops-Owl in The Gambia, Otus senegalensis, but more grey, less prominent tufts, yellow iris and black bill.
