Classified as Endangered (EN), endemic to Costa Rica and restricted to an area of 1,000 Km² in the Osa Peninsula and Golfo Dulce (+info). Dark upperparts, black cheeks and sides of the throat. Rose red crown stripe and throat, which disappear progressively toward the breast. Grey underparts. Female identical to H. fuscicauda.
