Size: Between 64 cm (Brown Booby, Sula leucogaster and 100 cm (Northern Gannet, Morus bassanus).

Distribution: All continents excepting Antarctica. Only Gannets are migratory, but Boobies also carry out dispersive movements of hundreds of kilometers.

Habitat: Strictly marine, some species are pelagic and other ones are coastal.

Feeding: Fish, by plunge-dives of around 10 m deep.

Breeding: Colonial, the nest is a small depression on the ground formed by excrements or vegetal material. 2-3 eggs. Incubation 41-45 days.

Threat status: 2 threatened species (1 Endangered and 1 Vulnerable). [+info]
