Size: Between 7 cm (Miniature Tit-Babbler, Micromacronus leytensis) and 34 cm (Greater Necklaced Laughingthrush, Garrulax pectoralis).

Distribution: Nearctic, Afrotropical and Oriental Regions. Sedentary.

Habitat: Forestal. They occupy dense forests, borders and clearings, scrubland or semiopen areas.

Feeding: Insects, fruit and nectar. Some large species also include small vertebrates in the diet.

Breeding: Open cup in a tree. 2-7 eggs. Incubation 14-15 days.
