Habitat: Clean running water, generally in high and medium course of rivers.

Feeding: Mainly aquatic larvae, also molluscs, crustaceans, small fish and amphibians.

Breeding: Close chamber with a front entrance, built with vegetal material and placed in the riverside. 4-6 eggs. Incubation around 15 days. Nestling period 20-25 days.
