Distribution: Neotropical Region. Not migratory.

Habitat: Different type of forestal areas, generally open ones.

Feeding: Insects and fruits. Some species can occasionally feed on small vertebrates.

Breeding: Depending on the species, cavities in trees (natural ones or old picid nests), open cups or closed chambers. 2-5 eggs. Incubation around 20 days. Nestling period 20-30 days.
