Size: Between 8 cm (Palestine Sunbird, Cinnyris osea) and 23 cm (Sao Tome Sunbird, Dreptes thomensis).

Distribution: Afrotropical, Oriental and Australasian Regions. Aparently sedentary.

Habitat: Second growth forests, scrubland and high plateaus.

Feeding: Nectar and arthropodes, mainly spiders.

Breeding: Closed chamber woven with vegetal material and spider web, anchored or hanging on a branch (Sunbirds), or open cup (Spiderhunters). 2-3 eggs. Incubation 13-15 days. Nesting period 14-19 days.
